BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team sets its focus on a road trip south to face No. 24 Emory University Friday, Sept. 15 in Atlanta, Ga. before stopping in Sewanee, Tenn. Sunday, Sept. 17 for a match against Sewanee: The University of the South on the trek home.
IWU last played in Holland, Mich. Wednesday, Sept. 13 where the Green and White were defeated 5-0 by Hope College. Junior goalkeeper Kayla Borg (McHenry, Ill.-Cary Grove) achieved a new career-high 17 saves in the bout, and leads the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with total saves (36) and saves per game (7.20).
Illinois Wesleyan enters Friday's match with a 1-4-0 record, as Emory sits 2-1. The Titans and Eagles have had only one meeting in their history, having tied 2-all Sept. 6, 2009.
Sunday's match against Sewanee (1-1-2) will be the first since their last meeting Sept. 11, 2015 when the Tigers came to Bloomington. Illinois Wesleyan took down Sewanee 3-0 in their one and only faceoff.
Friday's contest against Emory will kick off at 6 p.m. (ET), while Sunday's game against Sewanee is set for 1 p.m. The Emory match will be available via live stream
