NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After guiding the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team to a 1-0 week, sophomore Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week Monday, Sept. 11. This is Kedzior's third weekly honor of his career and comes after his third career shutout.
The Cary, Ill. native played a lights-out game this past Wednesday, Sept. 6, to secure a high-profile win over Aurora for the Titans. Kedzior played the full 90 minutes with 18 shots faced and totaled six saves. The sophomore ended the game with another shutout to push the Titans to 2-0, matching their best start since 2016. He stands as number one in the CCIW in categories of saves (1.000), goals against average (0), and shutouts per game (1.000).Â
The Green and White is set to return to the pitch tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 12 against Greenville University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Neis Field.
