BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will travel to Rock Island, Ill. for its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener against Augustana College Saturday, April 8. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m.

The Titans (4-7) last played March 31, defeating the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 17-12. The match saw freshman Carleigh Fountain (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) record seven points, made up of six goals and an assist. Sophomore Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) finished with five goals, while senior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) led the match with four assists to surpass the 100 career points mark.

Sophomore Lizzie Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Saint Viator) picked up the win, improving her record to 4-4, in between the posts, finishing with 20 saves and four ground balls in 56:55 minutes of action. The 20 goals ranks third-most in a game in program history, just two shy of the record. The impressive statline led Rymarcsuk to CCIW defensive player of the week honors.

Fiandaca leads the Titan offense in points (29) and goals (25), followed by Fountain's 27 points on 22 goals and five assists. Gleason has 14 goals and a team-best 12 helpers to round out the top-three scorers with 26 points.

Defensively, IWU is led by Gleason and Rymarcsuk with 28 and 24 ground balls, respectively. Senior Julia Raczykowski (Minooka, Ill.-Minooka Community) has a team-leading 11 caused turnovers, while Gleason has been credited with 11. Freshman Devon Hanson (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha West) leads the Green and White with 39 draw controls, followed by Fiandaca with 27.

Rymarcsuk enters the contest as the top goalkeeper, having logged 393:58 minutes between the posts. In that time, the sophomore has made 100 saves on a .510 save percentage. Her 9.09 saves per game average is second-best in the conference, while her save percentage is fifth.

Augustana enters the contest after defeating Franklin College, 20-10, Thursday, March 30, to improve to 5-3 overall. Illinois Wesleyan holds a slim 5-4 advantage in the series, having won the last five matchups. Most recently, IWU defeated the Vikings 20-5, April 9, 2022.
