BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After picking up its first win of the young 2023 season, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will remain at home for a match against Edgewood College Wednesday night, March 8. Action is set to begin at 6 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium.

Illinois Wesleyan most recently defeated Augsburg University Saturday, March 4, 20-8, to improve to 1-3 on the season. Sophomore Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) led the strong Titan offense with six goals, while freshmen Devon Hanson (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha West) and Carleigh Fountain (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) had five and four, respectively.

Fountain leads the Green and White with 10 points through four games, followed by Hanson and senior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) with eight points apiece. Gleason has a team-high 16 draw controls, followed by Hanson with 14.

The Titan defense has been led by sophomore Lizzie Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Saint Viator), who has logged 168:12 minutes between the posts. The Lake Zurich, Ill. native has made 40 saves and scooped up 11 ground balls, both of which are team-bests. Senior Julia Raczykowski (Minooka, Ill.-Minooka Community) has caused a team-high eight turnovers while adding five ground balls.

Edgewood (0-1) enters the contest after opening the season with a 9-5 loss to Cornell College Wednesday, March 1. The meeting on Wednesday will serve as the first time the two programs have faced off.

The match will be the last contest at home before the Titans embark on five straight games on the road. The game will be live streamed, which can be found here, and live stats can be accessed by clicking here
