BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After three games on the road over spring break, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will continue its road stretch with a contest at Concordia University Chicago Wednesday, March 22. Action is set to begin at 4 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan (2-6) enters the match after falling at 18th-ranked Roanoke College Thursday, March 16. Senior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) scored the lone goal for the Titans in a 20-1 defeat.

CUC enters after picking up its first win of the season to improve to 1-2. The Cougars defeated fellow College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opponent Augustana College 9-8 in overtime.

IWU will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline, as former Titan Maggie Torres is a graduate assistant for Concordia Chicago, entering her second year in the position. In her four years donning the Green and White, Torres recorded 56 goals, 30 assists, and 110 ground balls in 60 match appearances. She finished her career as a two-time Second Team All-CCIW honoree.

The Titan offense has been led by sophomore Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North), who has 14 goals and three assists for a total of 17 points. Gleason closely follows with 16 points, and freshman Carleigh Fountain (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) rounds out the top-three point leaders with 15 points. Freshman Devon Hanson (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha West) has a team-high 25 draw controls, followed by Gleason's 22.

Defensively, sophomore Lizzie Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Saint Viator) has recorded 72 saves with a .480 save percentage in 297:03 minutes between the posts. Rymarcsuk leads the Green and White with 20 ground balls, while Gleason has 19. Senior Julia Raczykowski (Minooka, Ill.-Minooka Community) has caused a team-best nine turnovers, while Gleason and Hanson each have been credited with eight.

This will mark the second meeting between the two teams. Illinois Wesleyan was victorious in the inaugural matchup, winning 16-7 inside Tucci Stadium March 6, 2022. Gleason led the Titans with four goals, while Fiandaca had three, and then-junior Carlyn Bratt (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) finished with two. Then-junior Rebecca Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich Senior) recorded the win between the posts, as she made six saves while allowing three goals in 30 minutes of action.
