Women’s Lacrosse Finishes Spring Break Trip Against 18th-Ranked Roanoke

Titans fell 20-1 in final leg of road trip

SALEM, Va. - In its third game in six days, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team finished its spring break trip with a 20-1 loss to 18th-ranked Roanoke College. The Titans fall to 2-6 on the season, while Roanoke remains perfect with a 6-0 record.

IWU's offense struggled against the high-caliber Roanoke defense, as the Titans were limited to five shots on goal, six total, for the game. The lone goal for the Green and White came from senior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South)

Gleason, along with fellow senior Kelly Carlson (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) and sophomore Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) each recorded two ground balls to lead the Titan defense. Fiandaca also recorded a team-best two caused turnovers.

Senior Rebecca Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich Senior) was credited with the loss to fall to 0-2, as she allowed three goals while making four saves in 15 minutes between the posts.

Illinois Wesleyan will remain on the road, as the Titans will travel to Chicago for a match against Concordia-University Chicago Wednesday, March 22. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m., and a link to the live stream and live stats can be found on iwusports.com under the women's lacrosse schedule tab.
