KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swim and dive team just closed day three of the Carthage Classic this Saturday, Dec. 2. The Titans have competed in 36 total events over the course of the meet. IWU placed 5th overall on both the men's and women's side with 829 and 940 points, respectively. Carthage clinched first place on the men's side while St. Norbert takes first for the women. 

For the men, senior Lane Wagner (Danville, Ill.-Danville) had an impressive time of 4:22.62 in the 400-yard individual medley and placed fourth in the event. Wagner also placed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.44. Not far behind Wagner in the 200-yard butterfly was freshman Jack Hansen (Naperville, Ill.-Benet) coming in fifth place with a time of 2:02.81, and in sixth place was junior Carter Dilger (Sellersburg, Ind.-Jeffersonville) clocking in at 2:04.26. Senior Ethan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 21.73

For the women, fifth year Lauren Feddersen (Champaign, Ill.-Centennial) placed third in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking in at 4:51.68. Feddersen also finished with a time of 1:11.11 placing ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Junior Hadley Fudge (Stanford, Ill.-University) also swam the 100-yard breaststroke and came in with a time of 1:08.21, placing third in the event. 

The team will be traveling to Venice, Fla. Dec. 27 - Jan. 6 during the holiday break to prepare for the rest of the swimming season.
