BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Following nearly a two week hiatus, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Beloit College for the Beloit Midseason Invitational Friday-Saturday, Nov. 21-22. The event will begin with pre-lims at 10 a.m. both days, with finals occurring in the afternoon.

The Green and White most recently competed at Olivet Nazarene University Saturday, Nov. 8. The Titans fell to the Tigers, but defeated North Central College on both sides in a two dual competition. IWU saw top-three finishes from the men's 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Jay Jenkins (Aurora, Ill.-West Aurora), Ben Huk (Des Plaines, Ill.-Maine West), Jacob Nacional (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook), and Tate Thomas (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West) earned a third place finish. Thomas notched an individual top-three finish as well, claiming second in the 1000-yard freestyle. In mid-distance, Nacional claimed a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, touching in at 5:10.13. Additionally, Jenkins earned a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

On the women's side, senior Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville) got the Titans started with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke, while freshman Abby Schnittker (Lombard, Ill.-Willowbrook) picked up the second consecutive 100-yard free victory of her freshman season. Junior Claire Paule (Godfrey, Ill.-Alton) claimed a victory in the 1000-yard free, touching in a career-best time of 11:34.79 and earning her first win of the season. Paule bested teammate junior Julianna Boyle (Carol Stream, Ill.-Glenbard North), who claimed second-place in the event with a time of 12:09.93.

Within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, IWU has three swimmers with a top-three time across six events. For the women, Porter ranks third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.98, and in the 500 free (5:25.83). Junior Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) has the third-quickest 50-yard backstroke time (29.57), helping the Titans' relay get off to a quick start. Her time of 2:16.06 in the 200-yard backstroke is also good for third. In the 200-yard breaststroke, senior Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) sits third with a time of 2:35.16. She also ranks third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.93).
