D3hoops.com Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
Junior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Tuesday morning, Nov. 21. Huber, who garnered national recognition for the third time in her career, tied Kendall Sosa for the most D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors in a career by a Titan.

Huber was one of two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin student-athletes named to the squad as Millikin's Elyce Knudsen, SUNY-Canton's Natalie Bartle, Williams' Arianna Gerig, and Washington & Lee's Mary Schleusner rounded out the team.

Huber continued her torrid start to the season with a pair of double-doubles against high-quality competition at the Hope College Tournament, Nov. 17-18. She averaged 22.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steal per game over the two-game tournament, all while shooting 54.3 percent from the floor, 100 percent from three-point distance, and 71.4 percent at the free throw line.

Huber went for 17 points and 15 rebounds in a win over a Puget Sound squad that is receiving votes in national polls to kickoff the week. The junior guard helped IWU erase an 18-point deficit to upend the Loggers, as the Titans posted their third-largest comeback since 2008-09. She followed that up with a 27-point, 16-rebound double-double against No. 21 Hope, Nov. 18. Huber eclipsed 500 career rebounds in the contest, needing just 60 career games to accomplish the feat, as she finished with season-highs in both points and rebounds.

Illinois Wesleyan is in action at the Shirk Center tonight, Nov. 21, for the first time this season. IWU's home opener against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
