NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Sophomore Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week for the third straight week, announced by the league's office Monday, Oct. 30.  It marks the fifth weekly award for the sophomore this season, and the seventh of her career.

French put up a monstrous stat line, leading the Illinois Wesleyan offense to a 3-0 week. In 11 sets played, the Romeoville, Ill. native compiled 63 kills on a whopping .296 attack percentage, averaging 5.73 kills per set, 42 digs for an average of 3.82 per set, seven assists, five aces, and three total blocks, and finished all three matches with a double-double performance. She recorded 70 points through the three matches, leading her to eclipse the 1,000 career points mark, doing so in just 54 matches.

The sophomore opened the week with 24 kills on a .246 clip, 12 digs, two blocks, and two aces in the Titans' four-set victory over CCIW for Wheaton College Wednesday, Oct. 25. French followed her midweek performance with two dominant matches at the IWU Tournament II Friday-Saturday, Oct. 27-28, leading her to all-tournament team honors.

In IWU's sweep of University of Chicago Friday night, Oct. 27, French posted a 15-kill, 18-dig double-double, while hitting .257 for the match and surpassing the 1,000-point mark, while adding an ace and three assists. French closed out the week with her most dominant performance, as she accumulated 24 kills on a massive .391 attack percentage while adding 12 digs, two aces, two assists, and a block to her loaded stat line in the four-set victory over University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

French continues to prove she is one of the nation's most dominant offensive threats, as she sits in the top 10 nationally in points, kills, points per set, and kills per set, all of which lead the CCIW.
