NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the second time in her career, sophomore
Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team was named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Second Team, the league office announced Friday, Oct. 27.
White returned for her sophomore season after being named the 2022 CCIW Newcomer of the Year, playing an integral role for the Titans as a midfielder and a team captain. White picked up her first two goals of her career in Illinois Wesleyan's shutout against Elmhurst, Oct. 18. Acting as the Titans' go-to dead ball and corner services, White has one assist in conference play while totaling three for the season.Â
Junior transfer Madalyn Buxton (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) was recognized as IWU's CCIW RESPECT award winner.Â
The Green and White heads to Waukesha, Wis. for the second time this season for a CCIW Quarterfinal match against Carroll University. The match is set for 1 p.m. at Schneider Stadium tomorrow, Oct. 28.
