Kedzior’s Double Shutout Leads to Third CCIW Player of the Week

Titans play tomorrow, Oct. 11, at Millikin

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill - Cary Grove) earned his third College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week this season and his fourth in his overall career as a Titan.

The Cary, Ill. native totaled nine saves on the week. Kedzior leads in three out of the four categories for goalies in the CCIW. He is first in saves percentage (.907), saves per game (4.9), and shutouts (4). Kedzior helped lead the Titans to a victory on Wednesday against Augustana, making four saves to keep the Vikings scoreless. Against Carroll Saturday, Oct. 7, Kedzior helped the defense earn a 0-0 draw, notching five saves between the iron.

Kedzior has put together an impressive season so far, starting in nine of the ten games this season and totaling 800 minutes in between the pipes. The sophomore has accumulated 49 saves and four shutouts this season, two coming this week.

The Green and White is set to return to the pitch tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 11 against Millikin University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Ill.
