BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete in its final two duals of the 2022-23 season Friday-Saturday, Jan. 27-28, inside of Fort Natatorium. IWU will host Division I University of Illinois-Chicago at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, which will be the final home meet of the season for the Titans. The Green and White will then travel to Franklin, Ind. Saturday, Jan. 28 to compete against Franklin College in its last dual meet of the season.

The Titans return to the pool after two tri meets last weekend. IWU hosted Illinois College and Millikin University Friday, Jan. 20. The meet saw the home team finished in first in all but two events. Junior Natalie Wajda (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) and freshman Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) each picked up three individual wins for the women, while junior Lane Wagner (Danville, Ill.-Danville) did so for the men.

In the IWU-IIT-Carthage Triangular Saturday, Jan. 21, Wajda and Kuschewski continued their dominant weekend with two more individual wins. Senior Lauren Feddersen (Champaign Ill.-Champaign) joined the pair with two first-place touches of her own. Wagner also continued his strong weekend for the men's squad with two more individual wins.

This will mark the first matchup between IWU and UIC. The Flames enter the dual after hosting the University of Chicago Friday, Jan. 20. The women's team fell 166-130, while the men's team lost 160-120.

Illinois Wesleyan takes on Franklin for the seventh time, with the last one taking place inside Fort Natatorium on Jan. 29, 2022, which saw both the men's and women's team drop the dual. In the meet, then-senior Ellen Gilbert broke the pool record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.91 seconds, just one of the many accomplishments in her historic career for the Green and White. Franklin enters the dual after seeing both the men's and women's teams take down Hanover College Friday, Jan. 20.

Results from both days will be posted to iwusports.com following the completion of the meet. Both meets will also be available to watch via IWU Swimming and Diving Facebook page, here. The meet against Franklin will be live streamed, which can be accessed here.
