BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams stay home this weekend for two meets on Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21. The men's and women's teams will host a tri-meet against Illinois College and conference foe Millikin University on Friday at 6 p.m. inside Fort Natatorium. On Saturday, IWU's men's and women's teams will celebrate senior day as they host Illinois Institute of Technology and CCIW opponent Carthage College with a 1 p.m. scheduled start time.

IWU will recognize its four seniors in Anna Keebler (Verona, Wis. - Middleton), Shannon Murphy (Medinah, Ill. - Lake Park), Emma Stroh (Normal, Ill. - University High), and Shannon Pinto (Bloomington, Ill. - Normal Community HS) during Saturday's meet.

The Titans' return to the pool after a strong showing last weekend. The men's team competed in two events, one on Friday, Jan. 13, at Fort Natatorium against Wabash College, where six Titans garnered a first place finish. On Saturday, Jan. 14, the men's and women's teams traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to face Rose-Hulman, where the women's team defeated Rose-Hulman by a team score of 175-107. 15 Titans earned first place finishes, including junior Natalie Wajda (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) who placed first in three events.

Freshman Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill. - Danville) also had an impressive showing at the dual with Rose-Hulman. Porter was named the CCIW Co-Swimmer of the Week Tuesday, Jan. 17, where she notched a first-place time in the 200 yard breaststroke with a lifetime-best 2:37.61.

CCIW competitor, Millikin, travels down the road to Bloomington after facing fellow CCIW opponent, Wheaton College Jan. 13. Both men's and women's teams dropped to the Thunder in the head-to-head. Illinois College, after over a month off from competition, last swam at its home quad meet Dec. 10, where IC placed third overall.

Saturday's meet sees a familiar face in Carthage. Earlier in the season the Titans went to the Carthage Classic, Dec. 2-3. The Firebirds, most recently, traveled north to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for a dual meet, Jan. 14. The men's team and the women's team both came out on top and defeated the Wisconsin Titans. Illinois-Tech also competed last week, Jan. 14 for a home double-dual with North Central College and Manchester University. A combined score of 313.00 earned the Hawks a second-place finish.

Results from both days will be posted to iwusports.com following the completion of the meet. Both meets will also be available to watch via IWU Swimming and Diving Facebook page, here.
