BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team heads into College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament play Wednesday, May 4. The No. 4 seeded Titans will head to the Windy City to take on No. 1 seeded and 20th-ranked University of Chicago for a 6 p.m. semifinal game. The winner will advance to the championship tilt Saturday, May 7 and will play the winner of the Carthage College-North Central College semifinal match.

The Titans (5-12, 3-3 CCIW) will head north once again this season to take on regular season champions, Chicago (15-1, 6-0 CCIW). Earlier this season IWU faced off against the Maroons as the Titans dropped, 24-6 in regular season play, the first loss against the Maroons in program history. The Titans still hold the all-time series advantage, 3-1.

The conference announced the all-conference teams earlier this week, May 3, which saw three Titans recognized as part of the All-CCIW teams. Senior Landry Elliott (Milwaukee, Wis.-Nicolet) was a First Team All-CCIW pick, while senior Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) and junior Kelly Carlson (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) garnered second team honors.

Elliott leads the Green and White in goals and points with 36 and 51, respectively. Junior Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) has recorded a career-high 41 points, just behind Elliott and ranks second on the team in goals with 34. Sophomore Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James Conant) leads in assists for the Titans, producing a career-high 20 helpers this season alone, blowing past her total assists of three last season. Maldonado also sits third behind Elliott and Gleason in points with 37, credited to her 17 goals in addition to her 20 helpers.

At the draw, Jones has dominated in draw controls winning a total of 74 this season and has a team-high 48 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers.
