BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team is scheduled to host Capital University in its home opener Saturday, March 5. The Titans will also welcome Concordia University-Chicago the following day Sunday, March 6 for a rescheduled game from Feb. 19. Both games will be played at 1 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium. 

The Titans (0-2) last played in Memphis, Tenn., Feb. 26-27, for their season opener on the campus of Rhodes College. IWU dropped both its games against Colorado College and Rhodes over the weekend. 

The Green and White are led by senior Bridget O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) who holds a team-high six points credited to three goals and three assists. 

The Titans have seen the sister duo of junior Rebecca Rymarscuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich) and freshman Lizzie Rymarscuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.-St. Viator) in between the posts for the Green and White. Both Rymarscuk's split time in the opening weekend, Rebecca Rymarscuk has notched 13 saves, while Lizze Rymarscuk tallied 12. 

The Green and White will look to turn its luck around in its home opener against the Comets. IWU and CU have only faced once before in the shortened 2020 season where the Green and White fell, 14-5, Feb. 28. 

The Comets have been off to a running start with an overall record of 3-0. Each game CU has played in this season they have kept their opponents under double-digits.

After getting postponed, the Titans will face Concordia Chicago for the first time in program history on Sunday. Titan fans will also see a familiar face on the sidelines for the Cougars as 2021 women's lacrosse alumnae, Maggie Torres, is the Graduate Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at CUC. 

Sunday's game will act as the Cougars season opener after a postponement and canceled game hit their 2022 schedule.
