BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team was bested by George Fox University Monday afternoon, March 21, at Tucci Stadium. The Titans (1-7) came out on the wrong end of a 19-3 bout with the Bruins (8-0).

The Green and White scored the game's first goal as sophomore Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James Conant) assisted on freshman Mia Fiandaca's (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) goal with 9:08 to play in the opening quarter.

The Bruins responded with 13 unanswered goals to take control of the contest, 13-1.

Freshman Mallory Mills (Schaumburg, Ill.-Conant) found the back of the net for the first goal of her career off an assist from senior Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter.

Fiandaca followed with her second goal of the afternoon, this time off junior Sarah Gleason's (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) helper to cut GFU's lead to 13-3.

The Bruins tacked on six goals over the final 16 minutes to take down the Titans, 19-3.
