INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming Championships wrapped up for senior Ellen Gilbert (Northbrook, Ill.-Glenbrook North) with a sixth-place finish in the 200 yard butterfly finals Friday, March 18. Gilbert garnered All-American status due to her top-eight finish.

The Northbrook, Ill. native is the first Titan to earn All-American status since Meg Stanley did so in 2017. After a career-best 2:02.00 in the trial session, Gilbert swam an impressive 2:02.65 in the finals where she finished sixth overall to conclude her IWU career.

Gilbert put together a story book ending to her time as a Titan, posting numerous career and lifetime-bests at the national meet. The senior bested her seed in each of her three events this week, placing sixth in the 200 fly (seeded 13th), 24th in the 100 fly (seeded 42nd), and 39th in the 200 IM (seeded 62nd).
