NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Junior Jalen Ping (Chatham, Ill.-Glenwood) of the Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Hitter of the Week Tuesday afternoon, March 15. It is the first weekly award of his career.

Ping led the Titans to a pair of wins, March 12-13, as the Green and White began its spring break trip in Florida. Hitting leadoff for IWU, Ping went 7-for-8 with six runs scored, four doubles, and two RBI over the two-game span. He boasted a batting average of .875 and a slugging percentage of 1.375 for the two games.

Ping began the week with a 3-for-3 effort against Lancaster Bible, where the junior outfielder scored twice, walked once, and drove one in. He wrapped up the week going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and an RBI in the cleanup spot against Central, March 13. The Chatham, Ill. native entered Tuesday as the CCIW's doubles leader with seven.

After today's game against Anderson, Illinois Wesleyan squares off against Ripon College Thursday, March 17. First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. EST.
