Men’s Tennis Takes Loss at Eckerd

Titans continue spring break in Orlando at USTA National Tennis Campus

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team kicked off its spring break trip in St. Petersburg, Fla. where it fell to Eckerd College, 7-0, Monday, March 14. The Titans will have a quick turnaround as they play Stevenson University tomorrow Tuesday, March 15.

At No. 4 singles, senior Shanku Nair (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) forced his opponent to a tiebreaker game in the first out of two sets. The Bloomington, Ill. native came up short as Eckerd took the match with scores of 7-6 and 6-4. Although Nair lost his match, he led the Green and White with the most game wins at 10.

IWU returns to play Wednesday, March 15 for a duel against Stevenson University at the USTA National Tennis Campus in Orlando, Fla.
