BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team concludes its long road trip this Saturday, Dec. 3, with a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin duel versus Carroll University.     The Titans will serve as the back half of a doubleheader with the Titan women's team with tipoff scheduled for 4:15 p.m. inside Van Male Fieldhouse in Waukesha, Wis.
Illinois Wesleyan is coming off a huge CCIW-opening road win on Wednesday night, Nov. 30, against No. 11 Elmhurst. The Titans hold a 3-3 overall record, including a 1-0 mark in league play. The Pios are looking to break a two-game losing skid, most recently a CCIW setback at North Central College on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Carroll is 2-6 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
Fans can tune into the game via live stats or audio broadcast. Links on how to follow along can be found on the men's basketball schedule page of IWUsports.com.

CLASHES WITH CARROLL: Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll have met on the hardwood a total of 87 times ahead of Saturday's league tilt, with the Titans holding a commanding 69-18 lead against the Pioneers all-time. IWU has won the past five meetings by an average of 20 points per game. CU's last win over the Green and White came back in the 2018-19 campaign, when the Pios upended Illinois Wesleyan, 90-83, inside the Shirk Center Dec. 15, 2018.
The Titans most recently defeated the Pios, 72-54, at Van Male Fieldhouse Jan. 22. Matthew Leritz scored a team-high 19 points and Lucas Heflen added 11 points.

NO NEED FOR WINDEX: Illinois Wesleyan has been dominant on the glass this season, out-rebounding its opponents 259 to 189. The strong effort on the glass has IWU holding a +11.5 rebounding margin on the season, the 11th-best in all of Division III. Senior Cody Mitchell leads the Green and White with 8.7 boards per contest. Ryan Sroka's 5.3 rebounds per game are second-best on the team, followed by Hakim Williams and Harrison Wilmsen with 4.8 and 4.7, respectively.

A FEW FIRSTS: In Wednesday night's defeat of Elmhurst, several players recorded career highs and first career points. Hakim Williams recorded career highs in both points and rebounds with 11 in each column, as well as his first career block. Ryan Sroka's 11 rebounds were the most in his career, and Evan Schneider's six boards were a career-high as well. Additionally, Nathan Boldt recorded the first points of his career with an old-fashioned three-point play.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE: The Titans saw five players reach double figures in the scoring column for the first time this young season on Wednesday night. Lucas Heflen, Cody Mitchell, Ryan Sroka, Hakim Williams, and Harrison Wilmsen's double digit performances propelled the Titans to their first win at R.A. Faganel Hall since the 2018-19 season. The Titans last had five players score in double digits on Feb. 5, 2022 against Carthage.

DOWN GOES NO. 11: Wednesday night's win at 11th-ranked Elmhurst marked the first time an unranked IWU squad defeated a top-25 opponent since Dec. 15, 2019 when the Titans outlasted 23rd-ranked Augustana, 74-67, in overtime. Coincidentally, it was IWU's second straight top-25 victory as it came days after the Green and White stunned No. 21 Carthage, 95-91, Dec. 7.

DOUBLE THE DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Hakim Williams and Ryan Sroka's 11:11 wish of recording a double-double came true in the Titan's take down of No. 11 Elmhurst Wednesday night. Both Sroka and Williams individually recorded 11-point and 11-rebound double-doubles, the first double-doubles of each of their careers. Cody Mitchell (13 points, nine rebounds) was one rebound shy of giving the Titans three players with a double-double. Wednesday marked the 12th time multiple Titans recorded double-doubles in the same game since the 1990-00 season.

ON THE HORIZON: The Titans have a week off before returning home to the Shirk Center Saturday, Dec. 10 for a battle with CCIW heavyweight North Central. The men's contest will serve as the back end of a doubleheader with the IWU women's team, tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
