BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
Senior Peter Lambesis (Mt. Prospect, Ill.-Prospect) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week the organization announced Tuesday, Jan. 4. Lambesis led the fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team to a pair of wins, including a dominant win at top-ranked Yeshiva, Dec. 30.

Lambesis is the third Titan to earn a spot on the national team of the week this season, joining fellow team captains Cory Noe (week one) and Matthew Leritz (week two). Overall, he is the eighth Titan all-time to be recognized.

Defensively, he was tasked with guarding some of the top scorers in Division III and stepped up to the challenge. Lambesis held North Central's Matt Helwig to 13 points, well below is 29.2 ppg average and most recently limited Yeshiva's Ryan Turrell (29.8 ppg average) to 22 points. His defensive effort was a key component to Illinois Wesleyan's ability to hold YU, a team that ranked fifth in three-point field goal percentage, to 25 percent from three-point range, Dec. 30.
