Swim and Dive to Celebrate Senior Day Saturday Versus Franklin

Senior day celebration is scheduled to start at 12:50 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams gear up for a senior day celebration Saturday, Jan. 29. The Titans will host Franklin College for its last regular season meet at Fort Natatorium for a 1 p.m. scheduled start. 
 
IWU will honor seniors Mason McCauley (Deerfield, Ill.-Deerfield), Jackson Rapala (Roselle, Ill.-Lake Park), Megan Wong (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township), Amanda Smith (Chaska, Minn.-Chaska), and Ellen Gilbert (Northbrook, Ill.-Glenbrook North) before the meet on Saturday starting at 12:50 p.m. All five Titans have been a part of the swim and dive program for the past four years.
 
Gilbert and McCauley enter their last regular season meet with the top-times in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in the 1000 yard freestyle and one mile, respectively. Gilbert also clinched the top-times in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly, recording times of 58.44 and 2:07.33, respectively. Wong is also among the top in the conference and sits second in the CCIW in the 200 yard individual medley. 
 
The Titans and Grizzlies have competed five times in total dating back to the 2015-16. FC holds the advantage in the all-time series for the men and women, 5-0 and 1-3-1 respectively. The women last outscored Franklin 152-142 in a meet held Jan. 28, 2017.
