Lansford Lands CCIW Player of the Week Honors

Third Titan to be tabbed league’s player of the week this season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Senior Brooke Lansford (Leawood, Kan.-Blue Valley West) was recognized for her exceptional play, Jan. 12-15, as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named her the league's player of the week Monday, Jan. 17. It is the first weekly CCIW award of her career and the third by a Titan this season.

Lansford led the Titans to a 2-0 record, Jan. 12-15, as the Green and White overpowered Elmhurst and Augustana to move to 6-0 in the CCIW. The senior point guard paced IWU with 19 points per game on 53.8 percent shooting, while also adding 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per contest over the two-game span. Lansford went 7-for-13 from three-point distance and boosted her league-leading assist average to 4.0 per game for the season.

Illinois Wesleyan puts its perfect conference record on the line Wednesday night, Jan. 19, as the Titans play host to Millikin University. Tipoff between the league leaders is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Shirk Center.
