James, Grajales, and Reichert Honored by United Soccer Coaches Association

First Titans to earn the new award established this spring

KANSAS CITY, Mo., - Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer seniors Keagan James (Kokomo, Ind.-Kokomo), Mateo Grajales ( Parker, Colo.-Regis Jesuit), and Bobby Reichert (Yorkville, Ill.-Yorkville) were three of 184 men's soccer players in Division III to be a part of the 2020-21 College Player Award of Distinction recipients announced by the United Soccer Coaches, June 9. 

The College Player Award of Distinction was announced this spring for its member head coaches to submit deserving players who perform not only on the field but who are also a team leader, embodies  sportsmanship and respect for all, and contributes to the community. 

James capped off his Titan career with 10 total goals and 5 assists with the Green and White. The Kokomo, Ind. native played in 49 games as a forward and scored two game-winning goals during his career. The senior graduated with a degree in economics. 

Grajales, a dynamic center midfielder and winger, saw action in 11 games during his IWU stint. The Parker, Colo. native ended his career with an assist during the shortened 2020 campaign. Grajales graduated with a degree in business administration and psychology.

Reichert appeared in 47 games for the Green and White as a powerful center midfielder. The senior picked up a goal and two assists for a total of four points during his time with the Titans and graduated with a degree in biology, pre-medicine, last month.
