Sosa Notches CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Senior Kendall Sosa (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) added yet another accolade to her accomplished career as she earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 7 team. Sosa, who earned praise for her academic success for the second straight year, will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

The Normal, Ill. native, who was named the Division III Player of the Year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and a D3hoops.com All-American, was incredible in a shortened season for the Titans. Sosa scored 267 points, grabbed 38 rebounds, tallied 31 steals, and added 27 assists over just 10 games.

She led the CCIW in scoring at 26.7 points per game, ranking second nationally, and also topped the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.460), free throw percentage (.883), three-pointers made per game (2.9), and steals per game (3.17). She also ranked third in overall field goal percentage (.497).

Sosa was named the D3hoops.com Central Region Player of the Year, was a unanimous First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin pick for the second straight season, was a two-time CCIW Player of the Week selection, and landed on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week three times.

CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams will be announced later this month.
