ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will travel to the Quad Cities this Saturday, April 3 to try and find their first conference win of the season against Augustana College. The game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start at Thorson-Lucken Field.
IWU is 6-2 on the year following a loss last weekend against Carroll, March 27. The Vikings are 4-4 on the season with a recent 18-4 win at Edgewood.
Junior Bridget O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) and sophomore
Sarah Gleason (Park Ridge, Ill.-Main South) posted three goals each in IWU's loss at Carroll. Senior
Janaye Godfrey (Portland, Ore.-Lincoln) registered 13 saves.
Saturday will be the eighth all-time meeting between the Titans and Vikings. Augie holds a slim 4-3 edge in the series, however IWU won the last meeting 15-6 during the 2019 season. In fact, Illinois Wesleyan has won three straight over the Vikings after Augie won the first four games between the two teams.
