Women's Volleyball Sweeps Carroll on Senior Day

Titans honored McCall, Meyer, and Dickison

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team celebrated its seniors with a three-set win over Carroll University Sunday, March 28, inside the Shirk Center. IWU edged Carroll 25-22, 25-23, and 25-23 in straight sets. IWU honored seniors Jessica McCall (Wayne, Ill.-Wheaton St. Francis), Caitlin Meyer (Manteno, Ill.-Manteno), and Page Dickison (Carmel, Ind.-Westfield) as part of Senior Day.

Junior Courtney McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) was unstoppable, notching a match-high 12 kills on a whopping .524 clip. McCall added nine kills. Meyer and junior Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way) finished with 19 and 17 assists, respectively. 

Junior Makenna Jacoby (Shorewood, Ill.-Minooka Community) registered a match-best 23 digs, while fellow junior Amber Juarez (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) added 15 digs and a team-high three aces. Meyer and Corey also added eight digs apiece. 

As a team, Illinois Wesleyan finished with 46 kills to Carroll 25, and hit .203 for the match. The Pioneers finished with a .143 clip. IWU also held advantages in aces (9-8) and digs (65-51), while CU held the upperhand in blocks, 4-1.

The Titans return to action with a road game at North Park University Wednesday, March 31. First serve is set for 5 p.m. inside NPU Gymnasium.
