Women's Volleyball Overpowers North Park

Titans took the match in straight sets

CHICAGO - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team won its fourth match of the season with a three-set victory against North Park University Wednesday night, March 31, inside NPU Gymnasium. The Titans overpowered the Vikings 25-21, 25-20, and 25-16.

Illinois Wesleyan hit .227 as a team, recording 40 kills on 110 attacks, while North Park hit just .038 for the match. IWU held a 6-5 edge in aces, a 50-46 lead in digs, and a 9-4 advantage in blocks. 

Sophomore Grace Sanders (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) paced the Titans with a 12-kill, 15-dig double-double. Her dozen kills were a match high, while she tied junior Amber Juarez (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) for the team lead in digs. 

Junior Courtney McAuliffe (Lemont, Ill.-Lemont) added nine kills on a .318 attacking percentage, to go along with eight blocks and a dig. Junior Madi Corey (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) tallied 17 assists and five digs. Senior Caitlin Meyer (Manteno, Ill.-Manteno) added 13 assists.

Illinois Wesleyan wraps up the regular season against Elmhurst University at home Wednesday, April 7. First serve between IWU and EU is set for 5:30 p.m.
