Titans Prepped for CCIW Clash at Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will travel to Wisconsin this Saturday, March 27 to start College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play against the Pioneers of Carroll University. The game will start at 1 p.m. at Haertel Field. 

IWU is 6-1 on the year following a winning weekend against Hamline and Augsburg in Minnesota, March 20-21. The Titans outlasted Hamline in a 9-6 victory and overpowered Augsburg, 19-7. Carroll is currently sitting at 5-1 on the year, after an 18-3 win over UW-La Crosse, March 20.


Junior
Bridget O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) had a weekend total of six goals in the two-game span. Senior Janaye Godfrey (Portland, Ore.-Lincoln) registered eight saves, while sophomore Rebecca Rymarcsuk (Lake Zurich, Ill.- Lake Zurich) and freshman Olivia Mangan (Franklin, Wis.- Franklin) had five and three saves, respectively.

The Titans are looking for their eighth straight win over the Pioneers, a streak that dates back to 2015. Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll's last meeting in the opening round of the 2019 CCIW Tournament. IWU ended CU's season with a 14-7 win at Tucci Stadium.
