SAINT PAUL & MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team will go on their second business trip of the season traveling to Minnesota for two games against Hamline University and Augsburg University Saturday-Sunday, March 20-21. The Titans will take on Hamline Saturday at 1 p.m., before heading to Augsburg on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game.
IWU is 4-1 on the year following a winning weekend against UW-River Falls and Transylvania at home, March 13-14. The Titans sealed both of their wins in the second half with a 12-8 victory against UW-River Falls and 10-9 win against Transylvania.
Maggie Torres (Chicago, Ill.-Resurrection Prep) and
Cassandra Jones (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant) both registered a total of five goals on the weekend to contribute to the sweep at Tucci. During the two-game homestand, senior
Janaye Godfrey (Portland, Ore.-Lincoln) totaled 13 ground balls and 31 saves including a new career-high of 18 saves in a single game against UWRF last Saturday, March 13.
The Titans and Pipers have seen each other twice before in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. IWU is 2-0 against Hamline, with its last meeting concluding in a 14-4 Titan victory on May 12, 2019. Hamline is currently sitting at 2-2 on the year, after a 16-2 win over Northwestern, March 17.
The Green and White will shift gears in a quick turnaround to face off against Augsburg for the first time Sunday, March 21. The Auggies are 0-2 this season and will play UW-Eau Claire a day prior to squaring off against the Titans.
