BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The regular season comes to a close Saturday, Feb. 27, as the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team hosts North Park University for Senior Day inside the Shirk Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m., with a Senior Day presentation to follow the conclusion of the contest.
Meeting for the second time in three days, IWU and NPU will look to settle the three-game season series Saturday. IWU enters the showdown 3-3 on the year, while NPU sits at 8-3 after knocking off the Titans, 65-63, Thursday, Feb. 25.
Fans can tune into the game via live stats or live stream, with Derek Bohlmann calling the action on the court. Links on how to follow along can be found on the women's basketball schedule page of IWUsports.com.

SENDING OFF THE SENIOR: Saturday's game with the Vikings will serve as Senior Day for Illinois Wesleyan's Riley Brovelli, Anna Lowis, Samantha Munroe, and Kendall Sosa. Together, the four seniors have led the Titans to three NCAA Tournament berths, three CCIW Tournament Championships, and 71 wins.

ON HER WAY UP: With 31 points in IWU's loss to North Park, Feb. 25, Kendall Sosa posted her 23 straight double-digit scoring performance. Additionally, it was the third game with 30+ points for Sosa this season, as well as the eighth of her career.
For her career, Sosa has scored 1204 points, the 12th-most in Illinois Wesleyan  history. She trails Amy Morgan's 11th-ranked total by 26 points, and is just 32 points behind Assistant Coach Rebekah Ehresman Mounce's 1257 career points.

VERSUS THE VIKINGS ALL-TIME: Illinois Wesleyan and North Park will square off for the 72nd time Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27, in the Shirk Center. The Titans hold a commanding 57-15 advantage in the all-time series and have won 33 of the past 35 meetings with the Vikings dating back to the 2004-05 season, but NPU has won two of the past three clashes.

HOME COOKING: In the 25-year history of the Shirk Center, IWU has won 234 of 310 of its games on its home court, good for a .755  win percentage.

THE 50TH YEAR OF IWU WOMEN'S HOOPS: Illinois Wesleyan, now in its 50th year of women's basketball, has compiled a 668-479 overall record. IWU's .582 all-time win percentage includes a 309-192 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin mark.

THE DEAN OF THE CCIW: The 2020-21 season marks the 23rd year under the direction of Mia Smith, the longest tenured coach in the CCIW. Smith's 435 wins are the most among active CCIW coaches by more than 150. Additionally, Smith's CCIW wins are the third-most in league history.
Under the tutelage of Smith, IWU has won eight CCIW Championships and made nine NCAA Tournament appearances. The Titans won the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship following a fourth-place finish in 2011.

RESUME IS GETTING AWFULLY LENGTHY: A record-breaking week earned Kendall Sosa recognition from both the CCIW and D3hoops, Feb. 15. Sosa was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week for the first time this season, while she landed on the D3hoops Team of the Week for the second straight time.
Sosa, who has been selected as the CCIW's weekly awardwinner four times during her career, is the first Titan of any gender to earn multiple D3hoops Team of the Week honors.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE, AND NOT FROM TIM HORTON'S: Senior Riley Brovelli became the second Titan this season to record a double-double, accomplishing the feat in IWU's win at North Park, Feb. 13. Brovelli scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, both of which were season-highs, en route to the 12th double-double of her career.
    Samantha Munroe previously notched a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double in IWU's win at 13th-ranked Millikin, Feb. 9.

ON THE HORIZON: After Saturday's regular season finale, the Titans will open up CCIW Tournament play Thursday, March 4. Illinois Wesleyan will hold either the No. 4 or No. 5 seed depending on the outcome of Saturday's games. If IWU is the No. 4 seed it will host fifth-seeded Carroll Thursday, March 4, while if the Titans end up as the five seed they will travel to Carroll.
