Keri Sanchez Resigns from Position at IWU

A national search for a replacement will begin immediately

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University Director of Athletics Mike Wagner announced today, Dec. 27, that Head Women's Soccer Coach Keri Sanchez has resigned from her position. Sanchez, who will move closer to family, has accepted the same role to lead Colorado College's Division I soccer program.

"I want to thank Keri for all that she has done for our women's soccer program," Wagner added. "She was a great leader and mentor for our student-athletes, and leaves our program in a great place moving forward."

"I want to thank President Nugent, Mike Wagner, and the IWU community for embracing me this past fall," Sanchez reflected. "I appreciated the opportunity to coach the women's soccer team. They are a special group of student-athletes. It is hard to say goodbye, but the ability to be closer to family was the driving force behind the decision. I wish IWU and the women's soccer team nothing but success."

In one season at the helm, Sanchez guided the Green and White to a share of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship. Illinois Wesleyan posted a 7-1 CCIW record and finished 9-8-1 while playing the eighth-toughest schedule in all of Division III. Four Titans earned All-CCIW honors, while Caelyn Steffens and Lauren Shanks were also recognized as part of the United Soccer Coaches All-Region team.
