NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After putting together a career day to lead the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team to a dominating road win at nationally-ranked Wheaton College over the weekend, senior Kaia Bowen (Rantoul, Ill.-St. Thomas More) was selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week. The league's announcement Monday, Dec. 13, marks the first weekly honor of Bowen's career, as well as the second by a Titan this season.

The Rantoul, Ill. native poured in a career-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including a 5-of-5 effort at the charity stripe, to go along with six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. With Bowen at forward at 5-foot-9, the undersized Titans out-rebounded the Thunder 40-34 and totaled a 46-32 edge in points in the paint. With the win, IWU sits atop the CCIW standings at 2-0.

Bowen and the Titans return to action Wednesday night, Dec. 15, as host to North Central College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside the Shirk Center.
