BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team looks to get off the schneid Wednesday evening, Dec. 1, as the Titans host Eureka College in a non-conference game inside the Shirk Center. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. and will serve as the first leg of a doubleheader with the IWU men's basketball team.
    Illinois Wesleyan is looking to get back on track following a pair of losses at the Midwest Challenge, Nov. 27-28. The Titans sit at 1-4 on the year, with their lone win coming at Capital, 75-67. Eureka (1-3) picked up its first win of the season Sunday, Nov. 28, as the Red Devils ran past Kalamazoo, 92-61, on the road.

TALE OF THE TAPE: The all-time series between the Titans and Red Devils dates back to the 1993-94 season. Illinois Wesleyan holds a commanding 13-3 in the series all-time, and is currently on a five-game win streak against Eureka. Furthermore, the Red Devils have never beat the Titans on IWU's home court.
The two team's last tangled Dec. 4, 2017, where IWU cruised to a 94-67 victory. Molly McGraw led a balanced offensive effort with 14 points, while Rebekah Ehresman tallied 13, and Kelsey Walsberg added 11. Riley Brovelli finished just shy of a double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
SUPER HUBER: Freshman Lauren Huber put together quite a weekend for the Titans at the Midwest Challenge, Nov. 27-28. The Lombard, Ill. native averaged 26 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. She also added 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and a block per contest over the two-game span. Huber's outstanding weekend earned her CCIW Player of the Week honors, Nov. 29. She is the first IWU freshman to do so in the award's 20-year history.
HOME COOKING: One of the greatest athletic venues in NCAA Division III, the Shirk Center has been home to more than 600 Titan basketball games between both the men and women. In the 26-year history of the Shirk Center, the women have won 236 of 315 of its games on its home court, good for a .749Â win percentage.
THE 51ST YEAR OF IWU WOMEN'S HOOPS: Illinois Wesleyan, now in its 51st year of women's basketball, has compiled a 672-484 overall record. IWU's .581 all-time win percentage includes a 309-193 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin mark.
THE DEAN OF THE CCIW: The 2021-21 season marks the 24th year under the direction of Mia Smith, the longest tenured coach in the CCIW. Smith's 438 wins are the most among active CCIW coaches by more than 150. Additionally, Smith's CCIW wins are the third-most in league history.
  Under the tutelage of Smith, IWU has won eight CCIW Championships and made nine NCAA Tournament appearances. The Titans won the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship following a fourth-place finish in 2011.
FRESHMEN FLEX: The Titans have seen three freshman average 15+ minutes per game and make an immediate impact. Lauren Huber leads the team in both scoring and rebounding after five games. She is averaging 16.4 points and 6.2 rebounds over 28.8 minutes per game. Mallory Powers, who has averaged 23.6 minutes of action, is averaging 7.6 points per game and Kate Palmer is adding 7.2 points per game with an average of 17.6 minutes of play.
Furthermore, Huber is ranked fourth in the CCIW in scoring. She is also fifth in field goal percentage (49.2) and tied for sixth in steals per game (2.0).
ON THE HORIZON: Illinois Wesleyan turns its attention to CCIW play after Wednesday night's game against Eureka. The Titans close out their homestand with their league opener against Carroll University Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. inside the Shirk Center.
