NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Freshman Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week Monday, Nov. 29. She is the first Titan to garner the league honor this season, and is the first IWU freshman to do so in the award's 20-year history.

Huber turned in a pair of outstanding performances at the Midwest Challenge, Nov. 27-28. She averaged 26 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and a block per game. Huber dropped a career-high 31 points against Rose-Hulman, Nov. 27, the most by an IWU freshman since Traci Butler dropped 32 at North Central Feb. 27, 1993. She followed that up with a 21-point performance against WashU, Nov. 28, as she led Illinois Wesleyan in scoring for the third straight game.

Huber now ranks fourth in the CCIW in scoring at 16.4 points per game, fifth in field goal percentage (49.2), and tied for sixth in steals (2.0).

Illinois Wesleyan hosts Eureka College in a midweek non-conference battle Wednesday night, Dec. 1. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. inside the Shirk Center.
