Kaminska’s Impressive Times Lead to Co-Swimmer of the Week Honors

First weekly award in her career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Freshman Jade Kaminska (Jablonna, Mazovia, Poland-Maria Konopnicka) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's swimming and diving team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Co-Swimmer of the Week Wednesday, Nov. 24. Kaminska earned the weekly award for the first time in her career alongside Millikin University's Katie Yelaska. She is the second Titan to win the weekly award on the women's side this season.

Kaminska and the Titans competed at the IWU Invite Saturday, Nov. 20 where the team produced a second-place finish out of three teams. In all her events swam at the invite the freshman produced career-best times. In the 200 individual medley, Kaminska touched in at 2:18.76, 4.5 second faster than her previous time. She also beat out her untapered best times in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle with times of 1:11.87 and 57.78, respectively.

Kaminska and the Titans are back in the pool at the Carthage Classic Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 2-4.
