D3hoops Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
A strong opening week landed senior Cory Noe (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet-Seymour) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Tuesday, Nov. 16. It is the first national honor of Noe's career.

Noe put together a strong week for the No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan Titans, as the senior co-captain led IWU to a 3-0 record. Noe was named the Most Valuable Player of the inaugural Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational, Nov. 13, after leading Illinois Wesleyan to the team title. He averaged 20.7 points per game, while shooting 56.8 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from three-point range. He also averaged 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest over the three-game span. Noe went off for 23 points, including five triples, in IWU's opener, before thrashing Hope for 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and added two assists and two steals to lead IWU past 17th-ranked UW-Oshkosh in the tournament's championship game, including the game-winning free throws late.

Noe and the Titans embark on a two-game roadtrip this weekend, Nov. 19-20, as IWU travels to Michigan for games against Alma College and Calvin University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Alma, Friday, Nov. 19, while Saturday's game at Calvin is scheduled for a 3 p.m. ET tip.
