With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the cancellation of the majority of the spring sports season, more than 50 Illinois Wesleyan seniors saw their athletic careers come to an end. Due to this and the inability to provide our student-athletes with a traditional Senior Day sendoff, IWUsports.com will share Senior Spotlight profiles over the next several weeks to highlight these Titans and their accomplishments.
Benigno Houser is a native of Hilliard, Ohio and four-year letterwinner for the IWU men's lacrosse team. He is the son of Kristine and Robert Houser.
"Benny was a great teammate and great competitor during his four years here," Head Coach Zach Iannucci shared. "He grew so much as a person and player here and when his name was called he was a guy we knew we could rely on. Benny will be missed, but we are excited to watch him thrive in the next phase of his journey." Â
A Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection as a junior, Houser helped the Titans to three straight CCIW Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament berths. He finished his career ranked second in save percentage and third in total saves in IWU history.
Houser will graduate with a degree in nursing.
