With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the cancellation of the majority of the spring sports season, more than 50 Illinois Wesleyan seniors saw their athletic careers come to an end. Due to this and the inability to provide our student-athletes with a traditional Senior Day sendoff, IWUsports.com will share Senior Spotlight profiles over the next several weeks to highlight these Titans and their accomplishments.
Seth Carlile is a four-year member of the Illinois Wesleyan men's track and field team. A product of Waukegan, Ill., he is the son of Nathan Carlile and Melissa Wettstein.
"To this day I still think his last name has an s," Head Coach Chris Schumacher joked. "Seth became a perfectionist at our bounding drills. It won't be the same without him at jump practice."
Carlile competed in sprints and jumps over the course of his career. On the track, he ran in the 200 and 400 dash, while also running a leg of the 4x400 meter relay during indoor season. Carlile, who was a consistent jumper for the Titans, posted a career-best of 18' 6' in the long jump this season. His career-best triple jump mark of 41' 10.5' was set during the 2017 season.
Carlile will graduate with a degree in accounting.
