With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the cancellation of the majority of the spring sports season, more than 50 Illinois Wesleyan seniors saw their athletic careers come to an end. Due to this and the inability to provide our student-athletes with a traditional Senior Day sendoff, IWUsports.com will share Senior Spotlight profiles over the next several weeks to highlight these Titans and their accomplishments.

Hailing from Cedarburg, Wis., Rachel Budd is a one-year letterwinner on the IWU women's track and field team. She is the daughter of Dianne and Dennis Budd.

"Rachel is my favorite bud on the whole team," Head Coach Chris Schumacher exclaimed. "She always smiles when she is working at Shirk. Rachel is a great team player and leader by example."

Budd competed in distance events for the Titans over her four-year career. This season, she posted an indoor personal-bests in the 800 meter run (2:33.96). Budd also ran a leg of IWU's distance medley relay this year.

Budd will graduate with a degree in nursing next month.
