Box Score 2 BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team split duals with Wisconsin Lutheran College and Principia College Saturday, Feb. 8, at Evergreen Racquet Club. IWU bested Wisconsin Lutheran 9-0 in its first match of the day, before falling short against Principia, 6-3.
The Titans came out strong with a sweep over the Warriors to kick off the spring season, before picking up wins at No. 5 and 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Junior
Dylan Mikaili (Naperville, Ill.-Waubonsie Valley HS) went 2-0 on the day at No. 5 singles defeating Wisconsin Lutheran's Logan Ascher 6-0, 6-0 and Principia's William Johnson 6-4, 6-1. Senior
Michael Behrensmeyer (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More HS) topped Josh Hennen of WLC 6-0, 6-0 and Elliot Matthiesen of PC 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. Together, the No. 3 doubles team went 2-0, earning victories over Ascher and Hennan in action with the Warriors and over Johnson and Matthiesen of Principia.
IWU will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for a 2 p.m. ET match with Cedarville University Saturday, Feb. 15.
