AVCA Thirty Under 30 Announcement

Mary Frahm has been chosen for inclusion in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2019 Thirty Under 30 Awards. This award was created in 2009 to honor up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport. To qualify for the award, nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2018.
A 2013 graduate of Division II Lewis University, Frahm was a graduate assistant coach at IWU for two years at IWU (2014-16) while earning her master's degree in sports management at Illinois State University. In August 2016, she was named assistant to the athletic director while continuing as an assistant volleyball coach. In the past two seasons, IWU volleyball teams have been a combined 50-14 with NCAA appearances both years and an outright College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title in 2018.
At Lewis, she was a four-year varsity volleyball player and two-year captain for teams that had a 110-27 overall record in her four years, had four consecutive conference championships and one conference tournament championship.
Of the 30 recipients, 11 are NCAA Division I women's coaches, six in high school/club, four in NCAA Division III and NCAA Division II, two in NCAA Division I-II Men, and one in NCAA Division III Men, Two-Year College and NAIA.
