BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team set a school single-game record with 23 goals in a 23-0 shutout of Elmhurst College at Tucci Stadium on Wednesday, April 10.
Illinois Wesleyan improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Bluejays fell to 1-8 this season and 0-3 in the CCIW.
The previous record was 22 goals, set in a 22-6 win over Whitman College on March 12, 2019, and also at Ferrum (Va.) in a 22-4 win on March 15, 2016.
Illinois Wesleyan, who had a 38-2 lead in shots and a 32-2 lead in shots on goal, steamed out to an 18-0 lead after the first half. Senior

Claudia Richman each scored four goals to lead IWU.
Elmhurst committed 19 turnovers to 15 for Illinois Wesleyan and IWU had a 12-7 lead in ground balls.
