Sikma's inclusion as a finalist was announced on Friday, Feb. 15, in Charlotte, N.C. as part of the NBA All-Star weekend.
The entire Class of 2019, including those elected by international and veterans' committees, will be announced at the NCAA Final Four on Saturday, April 6, with the 2019 induction ceremony for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame scheduled for Sept. 5-7 in Springfield, Mass.

Sikma is the only center to have led the NBA in free throw shooting percentage, converting 92.2 percent in 1987-88 with the Milwaukee Bucks and his jersey has been retired both by Illinois Wesleyan and the Seattle SuperSonics.
He has worked as an assistant coach for Seattle, Houston and Minnesota and currently serves as a coaching consultant for the Toronto Raptors.
