DECATUR, Ill. -- After a close loss last Wednesday, earning a decisive win on Saturday (Jan. 12) at Millikin University was a predominant goal for the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team.
That goal was achieved as the Titans led by as many as 27 and walked away with an 87-71 win at Griswold Center to improve to 10-6 overall and 3-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Big Blue is now 8-7 this season and 2-5 against league foes.

Brady Rose led IWU with 23 points while sophomore
Doug Wallen had 15 points and grabbed six rebounds to share team-best honors with senior

Grant Wolfe led the Titans with five assists each.
The Titans finished with a 36-28 rebounding edge over Millikin and got 16 offensive boards. IWU shot .486 from the field (34 of 70) and .360 from 3-point area (nine of 25) while sinking 10 of 11 free throws (.909). Illinois Wesleyan led by 14 at intermission (44-30) and led by a 66-39 score for a 27-point edge with 14:35 left to play in the game.
Jack Marinko came off the bench to knock in four 3-pointers and lead Millikin with 19 points. Elijah Henry scored 17 and Zach Fisher added 15.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays on the road again on Wednesday, Jan. 16, facing the Elmhurst College Bluejays at 7 p.m. Elmhurst, coached by IWU graduate John Baines, is 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the CCIW ahead of a Saturday night game at home vs. Wheaton.
