BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Senior
Tyler Brown had 17 kills and 19 digs as the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team swept a three-set match with Aurora University by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 in the opening night of the Holiday Inn Express Classic I on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Shirk Center.
IWU improved to 3-2 while the Spartans slipped to 2-3.
Senior
Rachel Burkman added 10 kills in the win and freshman
Madi Corey led IWU with 17 set assists. Senior
Leah Seielstad had 16 assists.
Sophomore
Jessica McCall had five kills, three service aces, 13 digs and tied freshman
Bev Ryan with a team-high two blocks. Junior
Raina Emery also had nine digs.
IWU had a hitting percentage of .206, making 39 kills with 12 errors in 131 attempts.
What's Next?
The Titans play Ohio Wesleyan at 11 a.m. and Wisconsin-Whitewater at 2 p.m. on the final day of the Classic on Saturday.
