BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 10-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost in five sets to No. 19 Washington U. at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Sept. 5. The scores were 21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22,10-15.
The Titans and Bears are both now 2-2.
Senior 
Tyler Brown led Illinois Wesleyan with 18 kills and 24 digs while senior 
Rachel Burkman and 
Heidi Dague each had 10 kills.
Jessica McCall had 21 digs and shared team-high with six blocks along with Dague. Senior 
Leah Seielstad paced the Titans with 25 assists and had 13 digs. Sophomore 
Caitlin Meyer added 21 set assists.
In an evenly-matched team between two of the region's powers, WashU had a .155 hitting percentage with 55 kills and 27 errors in 181 attempts while the Titans had a .168 hitting mark with 54 kills in 179 attempts with 24 errors. Ifeoma Ufondu led the Bears with 21 kills and Zoe Baxter had 23 digs.

Illinois Wesleyan plays Aurora University at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Shirk Center in the first game of the Holiday Inn Express Tournament I.
