ATLANTA, Ga. -- The No. 13-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost its 2018 season opener in four sets to Texas-Tyler at the Emory University Classic in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, August 31.
The Titans won the first set, 25-20, before losing the next three by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.
Senior
Tyler Brown led IWU with 11 kills while sophomore
Jessica McCall and senior
Rachel Burkman each added 10. Brown also paced the Titans with 21 defensive digs and three service aces.
Freshman
Madi Corey contributed 20 set assists and senior
Leah Seielstad had 18. Senior
Heidi Dague had a team-best four blocks.
What's Next?
The Titans will play the host school, No. 5-ranked Emory, at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday before closing play in the tourney against Whittier (Calif.) at 3 p.m. ET.
