ALMA, Mich. -- Trailing at halftime by a 43-39 score, the No. 19-ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team outscored Alma College by a 47-38 margin in the second half and put away a stubborn Scots team by a final of 86-81 on Saturday, Nov. 17, in Alma, Mich.
The Titans are 3-0 this season while Alma is 0-2 after losses to Augustana and IWU.
Senior guard
Brady Rose had 30 points while senior
Jason Gregoire added 18 and sophomore
Charlie Bair scored 14 and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds. Junior
Alex O'Neill added eight points and snared 11 rebounds as the Titans commanded a 42-36 lead on the boards in the game.
The Scots have five players in double figure scoring, led by Kyle Woodruff with 33 points, including seven 3-pointers.
Shooting 54 percent in the second half helped IWU fire at a 52.1 percent clip for the game (38 of 73) as the Titans dropped in 5 of 14 3-pointers (.357) and made only five of 10 free throws. The Titans committed eight turnovers while forcing 12 that led to 18 IWU points.
The Scots were 29 of 67 from the field for a .433 mark, made 13 of 35 treys (.371) and connected on 10 of 15 free throws.

Illinois Wesleyan meets Washington U. in St. Louis on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Tipoff is 7 p.m. The Bears, under new head coach Pat Juckem, are 1-1 with a 91-62 win over Illinois College and a 72-64 loss at Webster University. Juckem comes to WashU after six seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where his team last season finished as the national NCAA Division III runner-up.
